IGDASA Mission Statement

 

IGDASA is committed to being an inclusive, transparent, responsive organization that is active in local affairs and truly represents the interests of our diverse and vibrant community of game developers in South Australia.

The mission of the IGDA is to advance the careers and enhance the lives of game developers by connecting members with their peers, promoting professional development, and advocating on issues that affect the developer community.

As a chapter, we express that mission and our values at a local level through the following objectives:

  • To support and promote the work of local game creators and foster the development and exploration of games as a medium.
  • To support and promote growth in the South Australian game industry, encouraging the development of sustainable businesses and attracting and retaining talent locally.
  • To support and promote local game education and youth programs.
  • To promote adoption of and adherence to the IGDA code of ethics within our local companies and communities.
  • To create a portal for locating game development groups, opportunities, and resources in South Australia. This includes meetups, companies, jobs, internships, education, coworking, events, and more.
  • To offer an all-inclusive platform for local individuals interested in games and game development.
  • To act as a voice to the local community, advocating for issues affecting the game industry and sharing the medium of games with new audiences.
  • To act as a voice to the global game development community, celebrating the work and values of the South Australian game industry.

Chapter Code of Conduct

IGDASA strives to be a safe, inclusive community that welcomes a diversity of views. Healthy, respectful discussion is encouraged, provided it remains civil, professional, and appropriate. We are dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, religion, or any other personal expression. We do not tolerate harassment of members or participants in any form.

Harassment includes offensive verbal comments related to gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, or religion; sexual images in public spaces; deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording; sustained disruption of talks or other events; and inappropriate physical contact or unwelcome sexual attention. If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact an event organizer, group administrator, or a member of the IGDASA Board of Directors immediately.

We expect all members and participants to follow this code of conduct at all IGDASA chapter spaces and related events, including our online channels.
